Extended Essay
The Extended Essay (EE) is an
independent, self-directed piece of research, finishing with a
4,000-word paper
into a topic that the student
is interested in.
The student is guided by a supervisor
who offers advice on suitable research questions, how to acquire the necessary resources to complete the research,
and improvements to a version of the EE. The EE is introduced in the first semester of TOK.
The extended essay provides students with
